Günther Sitter was a Sturmbannführer (Major) in the Waffen SS during World War II who was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross, which was awarded to recognize extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership by Nazi Germany during World War II.

Sturmbannführer Günther Sitter was awarded the Knights Cross on the 13 September 1943, while in command of the II. Battalion 10th SS Panzer Grenadier Regiment Westland (5th SS Panzer Division Wiking) .

He did not survive the war but was killed in an accident on the Eastern Front on the 25 July 1944. [1][2]
